It seems a good time to reflect on what’s next for me- lots of ideas and starts, not a lot to show just yet.

After way too long a time, I have my big tapestry loom set up and ready to weave. My plan is to work with an abstract image from a collage I did on my residency and I’m excited about the change in scale- finished work should be about 4’ x 3’ which feels like quite a commitment.

Also in early stages: a new body of collage works with a working title and prompt of “Reflections on Water”. Water is a focal point in a lot of my photographs and in my thoughts as we grapple with too much, too little, and our future needs.

And finally, I am still very interested in continued work weaving with windows in my cloth and am doing a dive into information on how artists have used the convention of windows over time and how I might further incorporate them in new work. I was certainly inspired to think more about this after seeing the Matisse exhibit at SFMOMA recently.
